Mandatory Evacuations Ordered As Brush Fire Rapidly Spreads!

Mandatory evacuations have been ordered as a brush fire is rapidly spreading in the San Jacinto Mountains. The fire grew to 200 acres within 40 minutes of breaking out and has quickly grew to 1200 acres. 

The Cranston Fire erupted off Highway 74 between Hemet and Mountain Center.

Officials urge anyone in the southwest part of Idyllwild to leave the area immediately as the flames quickly spread!

 

Mandatory evacuation orders were also in effect for Mountain Center along McGaugh Road and McCall Park Road.

Residents in all of Idyllwild, Pine Cove and Fern Valley were also told to leave immediately.

An evacuation center has been set up at Banning High School, small animals are welcomed while large animals can be taken to San Jacinto High School.
