The California Supreme Court blocked a proposal to split the state into three from appearing as a ballot measure in November.

The proposal, promoted by venture capitalist Tim Draper, gathered at least 600,000 signatures which was enough to get a spot on the midterm ballot.

According to the Los Angeles Times the court decided to remove the measure from the ballot because questions have been raised about the proposition’s validity.
