Doctors Are Pleading Parents to Stop Letting Their Kids Eat Hot Cheetos

Do you love Flamin' Hot Cheetos? We do too! But, doctors are now warning against some pretty serious side effects of the spicy snack that could land you in the hospital.

According to Dr. Kathleen Berchelmann at the St. Louis Children’s Hospital, the Cheetos are loaded with just the right amount of sugar, salt, and saturated fats to cause addiction.

The spices can also cause damage to your stomach, sticking to your gastrointestinal tract and cause pain in the upper abdomen that rises to the chest. If you have a history of heartburn, this may not be the snack for you.

Also, the red dye can turn your poop red... many patients thought it was blood. "A change in stool color means you have definitely ingested more food dye than you should have," the article says.

Maybe skip the Flamin' Hots the next time you're dying for a snack!
