TEN YEARS, ONE MISSION:

10TH ANNUAL TOUR DE PIER COMMEMORATES RAISING $10 MILLION IN 10 YEARS TO ADVANCE CANCER RESEARCH

A decade in the making, the 10th Annual Tour de Pier outdoor stationary cycling fundraiser returns to the iconic Manhattan Beach Pier and Strand on Sunday, May 22nd to raise money and awareness to advance cancer research and provide support services for patients and families. This will be a momentous occasion as the Tour de Pier marks the milestone of raising $10 million in 10 years. The award-winning charity event will benefit a trio of nonprofit cancer organizations dedicated to helping save lives: Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer ResearchCancer Support Community South Bay and the Uncle Kory Foundation for Brain Cancer Research.  As one of Southern California’s most anticipated and unique fundraisers, the Tour de Pier has continued to bring the community together for a noble cause in the fight against cancer. Since the launch of the Tour de Pier in 2013, the event has been filled with tears, laughter and hope, and has empowered thousands of cyclists into taking action by pedaling for a cancer cure.

Each year, the Tour de Pier merges fitness, fun and fundraising. Noting, some of its signature highlights include: The Tiger Squadron, Southern California’s premier precision formation flying team soaring over the Manhattan Beach Pier and Strand; Kids Zone and interactive health and fitness booths. Additionally, the Tour de Pier presents a prelude to the main event – Ride the Nite, a sunset stationary cycling ride on the Manhattan Beach Pier that takes place on the eve of the Tour de Pier. Riders tune in to the hottest music while being immersed in brilliant lights to create a surreal riding experience as the sun sets.
