An investigation is underway for a Sacramento plastic surgeon who attended a Zoom court hearing, all while he was operating on a patient.
Dr Scott Green had taken part in the video conference in relation to a traffic violation. He was in an operating room and wearing surgical scrubs. The judge immediately seemed concerned, despite the defendant calling for the hearing to proceed.
“Hello, Mr. Green? Hi, are you available for trial?” you hear the courtroom clerk tell Dr. Green on the Zoom video. “It kind of looks like you’re in an operating room right now.”
The courtroom clerk added, “unless I’m mistaken, I’m seeing a defendant that’s in the middle of an operating room appearing to be actively engaged in providing services to a patient,” “Is that correct, Mr. Green? Or should I say Dr. Green?”
Dr. Green confirmed that it was.
“I am, sir,” Dr. Green replied as machines beeped in the background. “Yes, I’m in an operating room right now. I’m available for trial. Go right ahead.”
