Be happy, stay motivated, and keep smiling. That's the key of one McDonald's employee.
Ruthie Shuster from Philadelphia has worked at her local McDonalds for more than a quarter-century and soon, she will be celebrating her 100th birthday, and you guessed it, she has no plans to retire anytime soon.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Fridays were Shuster’s favorite day, and her customers’ meals usually came with a performance. We would all sing, "You are my sunshine," she told KSNB Local 4.
On March 3rd, Shuster will turn 100-year-old and to celebrate her birthday, hundreds of people sent her birthday cards at her own special mailbox at McDonald’s.
She says turning 100 is no big whoop, and it’s not going to make her slow down. “To me, it’s just a number,” she added. “I became a widow when I was 50, and I’ve been working ever, ever, ever since. I like working.”
What a happy soul. Happy 100th Birthday, Ruthie Shuster!
