It's the end of an era. The iconic Bay Area retailer is permanently closing the doors of all stores nationwide.
KRON-TV in San Francisco says it was "unclear at this time why the company is closing," but that will lay off its remaining employees this week.
The source also reports Fry's has not paid many of its vendors for months and customers have been complaining of bare shelves at many Fry's locations for at least the last two years.
Fry's has now deleted its Facebook page and locked its Twitter account ahead of a going-out-of-business announcement, which could come as early as today, Wednesday (February 24).
It's sad to see Fry’s Electronics go.
