Skateboarder Nyjah Huston is among five people who have been charged with organizing parties that were possible COVID-19 superspreader events during the pandemic.
Los Angeles Times reports that Huston and Edward Essa were the main names released by authorities. Essa is the owner of the Fairfax District home, where the parties occurred. Both were both charged with creating a nuisance, a misdemeanor.
After the lat party in January, mayor Eric Garcetti ordered the L.A. Department of Water and Power to turn off electricity at the residence.
“During this crisis, my office has held those individuals and businesses who have had large indoor gatherings, violating important public health and safety orders, accountable.” L.A.’s top prosecutor Mike Feuer said.
Feuer adds that people like Huston are “connected to properties where we allege that large indoor parties were held in violation of public health orders.”
