The key to success is high education and this upcoming generation is a true testament of that.
According to EDU date, University of California Los Angeles recently broke records for freshman applications amongst Black and Latino students.
They state that nearly 139,500 students applied to UCLA for freshman seats, a 28% increase over last year. The campus saw a historic increase in Black applicants, rising 48% over last year, and significant gains across all other racial and ethnic groups: 33% for Latinos, 35% for whites, 22% for Asian Americans, 34% for Pacific Islanders and 16% for American Indians. Asians were the largest group of applicants, followed by Latino, white and Black students.
"These significant increases are partly the result of our robust outreach efforts and our partnerships with high schools and community-based organizations, particularly in underserved communities," said Youlonda Copeland-Morgan, UCLA's vice provost for enrollment management.
"But we also recognize that the removal of standardized testing as a requirement for admission played a role in these substantial increases," Copeland-Morgan added.
If accepted to the university, UCLA will notify freshman applicants by April 1, and admitted students will have until May 1 to make a decision.
Congratulations!
