Los Angeles County officials are suggesting those who live with a person who is older or has health conditions should wear a mask even while inside the home.
Among the newest recommendations are the following:
"Those who leave the home for work or essential services and live with someone who is more vulnerable - particularly the elderly or someone with underlying health conditions - should wear a face covering even while at home."
LA County's public health director Dr. Barbara Ferrer said, "it will just add a layer of protection while we try to get through the surge."
ABC 7 Los Angeles adds that on Monday (January 11), the county reported an additional 137 deaths from the virus and 12,387 new cases.
