Alaska Airlines Kicks Off Two Muslim Men From Flight For Texting In Arabic

Airplane Traffic At JFK Airport in New York

Alaska Airlines under fire after two Muslim passengers were kicked off a flight for allegedly texting in Arabic.

According to New York's Daily News, the two men say they were unfairly targeted by the airlines in February 2020.

Both men Abobakkr and Mohamed, spoke during a virtual press conference where they mentioned their civil rights were violated when they were removed from a domestic flight.

“When we traveled that day, we were not treated like the rest of the people. It made me feel little and unequal,” said Abobakkr.

The latest incident is yet another example of what many Muslim and Middle Eastern passengers have described as “flying while Muslim,” a disturbing pattern of discriminatory experiences faced by passengers at airports.
