LAUSD Won't Give Students Failing Grades This Semester Due To The Pandemic

The Los Angeles Unified School District has announced it will not issue failing grades to students this semester.

Instead, the district will defer any F grades until at least January 29, 2021 in the hopes of giving struggling students more time to get their grade up, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The new policy grew out of concerns about the dramatic rise in D and F grades as the LAUSD schools remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and of course, had to rely on virtual learning.

Los Angeles Times also reports that many students are coping with is inconsistent or inadequate internet access, insufficient learning environment at home and other personal problems that may have affected their situation of learning.
