Kendrick Lamar kicked a white fan off stage at his concert last week for singing the N-word in lyrics from his track M.A.A.D City.
And on Thursday, Ice Cube spoke about the fan backlash mounting over the incident on The Project.
The 48-year-old said of the Swimming Pools hit-maker's reaction:
"It is like, don't invite people on your stage in you don't want them singing your songs."
However, he added: "I think it could have been avoided if the fans stay in their seat, the artists - you stay on the stage and do your job. We didn't pay to see nobody else sing anyway."
"We already have too much crowd participation with the 'say ho', throw your hands in the air," he said. "We are already working the crowd enough. Now you want them to come up and sing and rap?"
