J. Cole shocked hip-hop fans around the world when he announced he would be releasing a new album.
The 33-year old emcee released his latest LP “KOD” and ended up getting a response I’m sure he wasn’t ready for. Cole’s “KOD” received such a great response that it broke a US Spotify record that was previously held by Taylor Swift.
According to Chart Data, Cole earned himself a whooping 4.2 million streams on its opening day, the record still sits under Drake’s “God’s Plan.” Drake’s hit sits with 4.3 million streams on its opening day.
Congratulations J. Cole!
