Noreen Wredberg was walking though the Arkansas’ Crater of Diamonds State Park with her husband Michael on Sept. 23rd when they came across a “sparkling gem on top of the ground,” according to a press release from Arkansas State Parks. That gem ended up being a 4.38-carat yellow diamond, they didn't even know what it was at the time they found it till they took it home to be examined.
“I didn’t know it was a diamond then, but it was clean and shiny, so I picked it up,” Noreen said. “We really didn’t think we would find one, let alone something that big!”
It was the largest diamond found in that spot since October of 202, and that diamond was a 4.49-carat canary yellow diamond.
