According to a new report from Forbes, Papa John's CEO John Schnatter has personally lost $70 million within the past 24 hours.
Why, you ask?
Well, it seems as if investors aren't fond of the pizza magnate tying his decline in sales to the NFL National Anthem protests that have been going on since the season began. In Schnatter's opinion, the protests are the reason his business has been doing so poorly.
As of Wednesday, Schnatter was worth $801 million.
"Schnatter blames part of the downturn on the National Football League, which has faced turbulence amid widespread national anthem protests in the past year," Forbes reports. "'The NFL has hurt us by not resolving the current debacle,” he said on a conference call on Wednesday. Papa John's is the league's official pizza sponsor."
