The Phoenix Police Department has fired an officer who pointed his gun at a black family after their 4-year-old daughter shoplifted a toy doll from a store.
Back in May, Officer Christopher Meyer was seen pointing his gun at the girl's father and mother, who was pregnant and holding a baby at the time. The parents say they had no idea their daughter had taken the doll.
Meyer was initially handed a six-week suspension, but the chief of police said this week that Meyer has been fired. The family has filed a $10 million lawsuit against the city.
