Streaming powerhouse, Netflix has acquired the rights for a Cyntoia Brown documentary.
Brown was arrested at in Tennessee at the age 16 in 2004 after she killed a 43-year-old man who was soliciting her for sex.
Her story became national news after the 2011 PBS documentary, Me Facing Life: Cyntoia’s Story aired. The story caught the attention of celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Viola Davis, and Ashley Judd.
Cyntoia’s quest for clemency has been documented and will be featured in the new Netflix documentary, she’s scheduled to be released from jail August 2019.
