A new criminal justice reform organization is being formed by JAY-Z, Meek Mill and billionaire Michael Rubin.
A press conference will be held next Wednesday (January 23rd) that will give more details on the organization.
Meek Mill was one of many that became the face of prison reform after his ten-year case eventually landed him in jail.
JAY-Z has been outspoken on prison reform, giving insight through his produced documentary of Kalief Browder who was wrongfully imprisoned and later committed suicide as a result of it.
JAY-Z wrote an op-ed for the New York Times where he explained why the current system is failed Meek Mill, "Meek was around 19 when he was convicted on charges relating to drug and gun possession, and he served an eight-month sentence, wrote JAY-Z, “Now he’s 30, so he has been on probation for basically his entire adult life.”
