The judge that duct-taped the mouth of a defendant shut while in court has issued an apology and taken himself off the case after footage of the incident sparked outrage.
Judge John Russo of Cuyahoga County, in a statement to the court said, "In retrospect, while there is legal precedent for gagging a defendant to keep order in court, I apologize for taking that action last week."
The Ohio Supreme Court will now appoint a new judge to the case to sentence 32 year old Franklyn Williams.
Do you think the defendant was out of pocket or should he have had a chance to say his piece.
