A Detroit police officer and a camera man are suing the 33-year-old singer because of an incident that happened at a concert in 2016. Songz got angry after he was told his show needed to wrap up. T
According to the police officer, because Trey was enraged he threw something in the crowd. The police officer attempted to arrest him and Songz allegedly hit him.
Last August, Songz reached a plea deal on criminal charges from the incident. The officer assault charges were dropped in exchange for accepting two misdemeanors for disturbing the peace.
The officer, Sgt. Robert Avery, and a photographer, Andrew Potter, have filed a civil suit. Potter alleges that Songz threw a microphone stand into the crowd and it hit him. Both men are suing for assault and battery as well as emotional distress.
