It is mostly good news today for Canelo Alvarez today despite being suspended for 6 months by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
Canelo was suspended for 6 months retroactive to his first positive drug test. That makes him eligible to fight again on August 17th.
The deal for Alvarez comes after he cooperated with Commission officials following his failure of two drug tests while training to fight Gennady Golovkin. That fight was canceled. GGG will now fight Vanes Martirosyan on May 5th in Carson, California.
Alvarez tested positive for the banned substance clenbuterol from samples provided in February.
