Eight Argentinian police officers were fired after senior officials didn't buy their story that "mice" were the reason for a missing half-ton of marijuana.
Inspectors found that about 500kg of cannabis was missing from a police warehouse in the city of Pilar, north of Buenos Aires.
When officers were questioned about the missing pot, they told a judge that it was eaten by mice.
Experts pointed out that mice wouldn't consider marijuana to be food, and would probably die if they ate it.
The fired officers are due in court next month.
