Heineken was under a lot of heat for it's latest light beer commercial.
After receiving a lot of complaints that it was insensitive and "terribly racist," the beer company decided to pull the ad.
In the ad, a bartender slides a beer to a white woman who's seemingly unimpressed with her wine. The beer slides past a few Black people before making its way to the woman. The end of the ad finished with the tagline “Sometimes, lighter is better," before panning to the woman talking with a group of white dudes.
Chance The Rapper was one of the first to publicly call out Heineken. The 24-year-old even tweeted that he thought the advertisement was intentionally racist to stir conversation and get more views.
