Teacher Accidentally Fires Gun In California Classroom

So much for that plan to arm teachers making classrooms safer.

A California high school teacher accidentally fired a gun during a class on public safety.

No one was "seriously injured" during Tuesday's 1:20pm demonstration at Seaside High School. Classes resumed shortly after. According to KSBW8 however, one 17-year-old student was moderately injured by bullet fragments.

Teacher Dennis Alexander, who serves as a reserve police officer for the Sand City police, is also a Seaside city councilman.

He's been placed on administrative leave from Seaside High School, and he was also placed on administrative leave at the Sand City Police Department.

Do you think guns in the hands of professionals at schools will prevent violent incidents?
