Legendary boxing champion Jake LaMotta passed away in a nursing home due to complications from pneumonia, his wife told TMZ.
LaMotta was portrayed by Robert DeNiro in the 1980 Martin Scorsese-directed film Raging Bull, based off the boxer's 1970 memoirs. The film earned DeNiro a Best Actor Award at the Oscars.
