Huge congrats to Serena Williams because she just topped Forbes' Magazine's Highest Paid Female Athletes list for a third year in a row!
Serena Williams, 36, won just $62,000 in prize money in the past year due to her absence from competitions amid her pregnancy and maternity leave. An impressive $18 million in endorsements pushed her over the edge though, landing Williams at the number one for the third year in a row. Throughout her entire career, Forbes said, Williams has earned $86 million in prize money.
And her sister, Venus, came in sixth place with $10.2 million! Not too shabby either!
Another day, another broken record for #SerenaWilliams. 🏆 The tennis player has snagged the #1 spot on the #Forbes “Highest-Paid Female Athletes” list for the third year in a row. 💰 She still managed to do this after taking a 14-month break while she was pregnant with Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. Come through with those endorsements, Serena! 👏 The top ten highest-paid female athletes brought in a total of $105 million which is considerably lower than expected. 😤 Find out #PorshaWilliams’ plan to raise that number! 🙌 #DishNation
