Specific publishers will be able to tag stories with a red label to alert users that a story is "breaking news" A spokesperson for Facebook said that the trending topics feature “accounted for less than 1.5% of clicks to news publishers on average” and that people found the product to be “less and less useful."
Facebook has made a commitment in the past few years to provide users with a better way to consume breaking news.
