Now that marijuana is legal recreationally and medically in many states more and more studies are being done.
One of the biggest debates regarding the drug is whether or not it's okay to take it while pregnant. Colorado is one of the states where you can buy it just like you can buy alcohol. The problem is, after researchers called 400 marijuana shops, they learned that if you ask a majority of the employees who work there about taking marijuana while pregnant, they won't discourage it, saying it helps with pregnancy-related nausea.
Don't be so quick to light a joint though. Health officials are still saying its a no go. Studies show that marijuana can absolutely affect a developing fetus. Despite that, in 2016 about 8% of women who were pregnant say they were using marijuana and health officials are worried that number will increase if this is the kind of information patients are getting at the weed stores.
