Recent breaches of information through Facebook and Equifax have caused the Child Rescue Coalition (CRC) to remind parents to be careful what pictures they post of their children. A campaign has been launched to help warn parents, @KidsForPrivacy is asking parents to think twice before posting pictures of their children during intimate moments such as during a child’s bath or potty-training session and asks them to refrain from using hashtags such as #bathtime or #pottytraining.
The hashtags could draw child predators and put your child at risk. David Angelo the founder and chairman of the public relations agency, David & Goliath that created the campaign says they wanted to use Child Abuse Prevention month as a platform to bring awareness to parents, “What seems like innocent moments that parents are sharing, can fall into the hands of pedophiles on the dark web,” says Angelo.
