Here's A First Look At Documentary For Mr Rogers Neighborhood

The first trailer for Mr. Rogers Documentary has been released and it’s brought back the nostalgia of a simpler time. The kind gentleman that would come in and change his sweater and shoes everyday is relieved on the big screen in the new documentary which includes interviews from cast members from the PBS children’s show, including Elizabeth Seamans (Mrs. McFeely) and François Clemmons (Officer Clemmons).

The documentary will feature archive video and interviews with the show’s producer, Mary Whitmer as well as interviews featuring Rogers himself. The trailer shows how Mr. Rogers didn’t shy away from topics such as divorce, death, assassination, and race relations and how he discussed it in a way children could understand. In addition to the documentary, Tom Hanks has been named to portray Mr. Rogers in a movie that is also coming to the big screen, You Are My Friend will focus on Fred Rogers relationship with Esquire journalist, Tom Junod. There is no date set for the release of the Hanks led film but you can catch “Won’t You Be My Neighbor” in select theatres June 8th.
