Today, Tupac and Dr Dre’s "California Love" turns 25 and Kendrick Lamar shared how he was at THE music video shoot when he was just a kid.

K Dot was just 8-years-old when he watched the music video being filmed in Compton while he sat on his father’s shoulders.

In an 2012 interview with WGCI’s The Morning Riot, the Compton rapper recalled the precise moment:

"I was in Compton and they were shooting the first version of it. They stopped right in front of the middle of the street. My pops had seen them and came back to the house and got me. My father went to the house to get me and put me on his shoulders to watch them shoot."

In a separate interview with The Recording Academy, the West Coast artist spoke about the moment he met Dr Dre and Dre mentioned seeing him there.
