China Plans to Ban Hip Hop and Tattoo Culture From Television


Hip Hop culture has inspired many people of all generations and races and clearly isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Although hip hop as been on the rise for years, 2017 was rated as the biggest selling genre of music and dominated this year Grammy nominations.

So why ban Hip Hop? Your guess is as good as ours. China's top media regulator from administration of film and television, specifically wants no hip hop or tattoo depicts televised due to one Chinese rapper by the name of GAI performing on a competition show.

Now the reasoning is still unclear but it seems China found the rapper's performance to be inappropriate with his tattoos and use of language.
