Vanessa Bryant Calls Out Nike Because She Didn't Approve "Mambacita" Shoe

2021 Basketball Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony

Vanessa Bryant is upset that Nike has apparently made a "Mambacita" shoe that she designed but did not give the "ok" to create and sell.

Vanessa explains that she helped create a version of the Kobe 6 Protro that was meant to honor Gianna and Kobe. She went on to explain the design as well. However a few months ago Vanessa split with Nike and it seems like they still went ahead with her design and made the shoe.

Vanessa wanted to sell the shoes and donate the proceeds to the Mambacita Foundation, I'm guessing Nike won't be doing that if they sell the shoes.

Now it seems some people have gotten the shoe and Vanessa doesn't have it.

A guy on Instagram posted a photo of the shoes and explained

"I just want to make it clear that I don't own a pair of those Mambacita Kobes," the IG user said in a statement Thursday morning.

"The pictures I posted are official product pictures from a Nike authorized retailer."

The user continued, "Unfortunately for [Vanessa Bryant], Nike clearly sent pairs to this retailer (as well as others) with the intent of selling pairs."
