LeBron James and Naomi Osaka have been named Athletes of the Year by the Associated Press.
Both athletes were selected not only for their success on the courts, but their activism off it.
Osaka was honored for the first time in her career, for a year that "included a U.S. Open title and social justice advocacy".
LeBron earned the honor for the fourth time, for "encouraging people to hit the polls" and "taking home his fourth NBA Finals MVP trophy".
