You Should Wear Socks To Bed, Doctor Explains Why

Do you sleep with your socks on your off?

A Doctor on TikTok with over 2.3 million followers explained the importance of wearing your socks to bed.

If you're like me, you probably wear them, and by the time you wake up, one of your socks (or both) have magically come off. But things need to change.

Dr. Karan Raj explained why we need to keep our socks on at night, and he has some good points.

If you want better feet, then "cover your feet," Dr. Raj says.

Dr. Raj also states, "wearing socks to bed increases the blood circulation to your feet; this causes your blood vessels to vasodilate - they widen. When the blood vessels widen, they can get rid of heat much quicker because of the much bigger surface areas. This allows your core body temperature to cool down at a faster rate than normal, and a lower core body temperature is needed for optimal sleep."

Dr. Raj isn't the only one recommending you sleep with socks on; National Sleep Foundation has the same suggestion.
