We've all been dealing with it, the stores! Trying to stock up and take care of our families. One of the hardest things to see at the store was the seniors walking around, not knowing what to get or looking a bit confused. It breaks my heart!
Also personally, my Dad is older and I've been doing what I can to help him get prepared and have enough food so that he doesn't have to go to the market!
But of course my Dad still wants to go out and get certain things...like Bananas! Gotta love him! But he tried going to the store two different days and couldn't get in.
Well the Northgate Market in La Habra is now offering to open the store earlier for people 65 and older. It will give them a chance to buy things before anyone else.
I know that seniors should be self isolating but some people don't have anyone watching out for them. So I love that Northgate is doing this.
La Habra City Councilman Jose Medrano helped the store manager Joshua Martinez announce the plan at the store at Whittier Boulevard and Idaho Street.
Between 7:30 a.m. and 8 a.m., "We're going to have (shopping) exclusive for seniors 65 and older," Gonzalez said. "We will help them if they need any support shopping."
Seniors need only to bring an ID to prove their age and then they will open their doors to everyone else at 8am! "Northgate is out here again, being a good community partner," he said.
