Dad Gets Told "Why Didn't You Stay in Mexico" After his Son is Bullied!

This breaks my heart but I'm so proud of this parent! Adrian Iraola went to community school meeting, Adrian explained that his son had been experiencing some bullying at the school! As he was telling his story, he got interrupted by another parent named Tom Burtell shouted "Why didn't you stay in Mexico?!"

The comment caught most of the audience off guard, eliciting a chorus of gasps and shouts. Iraola replied that the United States is “the greatest country in the world.”

Good for Adrian!! People need to understand that Adrian's issue was not with this country it was with the way these rude ass kids and how they're treating other kids! It has nothing to do with coming to America to give your kids a better life! His response was amazing! Tom should be ashamed of himself. Thankfully his son is speaking out.

Matthew Burtell is Tom's son, his Father's views do not express his own and that you should call out bigotry whenever it happens, even when it's your Father.

Matthew Burtell, a 2014 Saline High School alum with siblings still in the district, a friend of his sent him the video Monday evening. He said it gave him “a sinking feeling."

“I was horrified,” said Matthew Burtell, a U.S. Navy veteran who’s studying computer science and math at Yale University.

“"At some points in my life, I’ve felt immense dread and a sort of sinking feeling, like ‘Oh my god.’ So, I think it was that feeling."
