Alex Rodriguez Gushes Over Jennifer Lopez's Epic Versace Runway Moment

CFDA Fashion Awards - Arrivals

Alex Rodriguez loves seeing his lady in green!

The former baseball pro's fiancee Jennifer Lopez blew audiences away at Versace's runway show in Milan earlier this month, where she stepped out in her iconic green dress like a blast from the past. Lopez's appearance at the event was to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the "Jungle Print" by slipping on the unforgettable 2000 Grammys gown that helped launch Google Images.

Still amazed by the moment, Rodriguez took to Instagram to praise his soon-to-be wife after she rocked the runway. "This woman," A-Rod gushed in the caption alongside a mirror selfie of the 50-year-old pop star flaunting her bod in the jungle-themed ensemble.

In case you don't know the story, the "Medicine" musician's stylist didn't initially want her to wear "the dress" when it was presented to her at the Grammys nearly two decades ago.

"I tried on the green one and when I came out everyone was there, glam and everybody, and they were like, 'That’s the dress! That is the dress! That’s what you’re wearing, let’s go,'" Lopez recalled to Vogue. "Andrea, my stylist, was like, 'No! You can’t wear that one.' And I was like, 'Why did you bring it then?'"

Evidently, her stylist feared the look had already been done, as it was previously worn by Sandra Bullock, Geri Horner, and Donatella Versace herself — but J. Lo's mind was already made up.

"I said, 'This is what we’re going to wear. This is it,'" Lopez added. "I really didn’t think about it. I didn’t think it was all that risqué to be honest. … I was just glad I had something to wear."

In other news, at this year's iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina in November, Lopez is being honored with the iHeartRadio Premio Corazón Award. She is being recognized for her work with humanitarian organizations including the Gloria Wise Boys and Girls Club, the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, the American Red Cross and the United Nations Foundation, among others.
