Megan Thee Stallion definitely wants us to have a "Hot Girl Summer" - but she wants to get paid too!! Look we’ve seen it before an artist has a popular phrase and wants to use it to make some more money OR on the flip side, STOP other people from capitalizing off what’s theirs!!!
And both of those are the reasons why Megan is in the process of trademarking the phrase “Hot Girl Summer” Companies like Wendy’s, Duolingo, Forever 21 and Maybelline have all used the phrase in recent marketing!
Hopefully Megan can get the trademark that she wants - it’s not always a for sure thing, remember when Cardi wanted “Okkurr” and she got denied! So fingers crossed for Megan and in the meantime all of us will continue to have a HOT GIRL SUMMER!!! While we wait to see if she gets approved for the trademark we'll enjoy her Freestyle for the XXL Freshman Class
