A Fayetteville woman tried to shame a McDonald’s employee by posting a picture of 21-year old Simon Childs sleeping in a restaurant booth to Facebook.
Childs, who is a homeless father and recently lost his mother says, “It kind of hurt to see my picture up there, you know.”
The woman posted the picture of Childs sleeping in a booth to a private Facebook group with the caption, “Just another reason for me to leave Fayetteville. I was in the McDonald’s in the middle of town and I saw this guy sleeping in the booth, I go and tell an employee that someone is asleep in their booth and her response was ‘oh yeah, we know him, its ok’ and I said, ‘not really but whatever,’” with an angry emoji.
Instead of people siding with the woman, people reached out to Childs to help him to donate diapers and clothes for his son. He also received donations of hotel rooms and one restaurant owner loaned Childs a car.
