Gucci Launches Action Plan to Increase Diversity After Blackface Sweater

Gucci has received backlash over a knit sweater that resembles blackface. Gucci's President and chief executive officer, Marco Bizzari, flew to New York for a meeting in Harlem to discuss solutions with community and industry leaders. The meeting included several of Gucci's highest ranking executives and 24 hours later they announced several initiatives.

The initiatives were: hire global and regional directors for diversity and inclusion, create a multicultural design scholarship program, launch a diversity and inclusivity awareness program, implement a global exchange program.

Gucci went on to say they accept full accountability for the incident.
