Australian teenager Sam Kanizay was soaking his sore legs in Brighton Beach when he noticed a strange sensation on his legs. When he walked back up to the beach, he looked down to see that both of his legs were bleeding profusely near his ankles.
This was after 30 min of soaking his legs.
“I walked out of the water, saw what I thought was sand covering my ankles and lower calf so I just shook it off quite violently, and it came off, and by the time I walked across the sand, about 20 metres to put my thongs on… I looked down and noticed that I had blood all over my ankles and feet,” Kanizay said.
Kanizay's parents immediately took him to the hospital where even doctors were puzzled as to what cause the teen's open sores.
The teen's father Jarrod went back to the beach the following night with a pool net full of meat and captured the animals he believes could have been responsible. Some sort of "Sea Fleas."
