Happy 46th Birthday Tupac Amaru Shakur!

My father was murdered when I turned eight, life was harsh and I couldn't exactly understand it. In fact I still don't fully understand it. There's a vivid memory I have of that time in my life, a line in a song that made me feel a little bit brighter. This might sound crazy but I was listening to Pac's, "Me Against The World," I'd heard this song before but on this particular day I was feeling so lost and felt my life couldn't possibly get better. It was then, that for some reason I heard Pac's voice so loud and clear when he said, "Through every dark night, there's a bright day after that. So no matter how hard it get, stick your chest out, keep your head up, and handle it," it was then that I knew everything was going to be okay or that least I wouldn't give up. My life didn't get better but throughout it I could play Pac and that same feeling of relief and understanding would be there. His words still help me get through some of my darkest days. For that I'll always have love for Pac and continue to celebrate his life and legacy forever.
