Following a fiery car wreck involving two big rigs and four other vehicles on the 5 freeway near Griffith Park, 1 is dead and 10 others are injured.
The big rigs caught fire and shut down the northbound freeway lanes near Colorado Boulevard. One person died at the scene, another is in critical condition.
According to witnesses, a pickup truck going northbound on the freeway lost control, crashing into another vehicle that crossed over the center divide. The vehicle then either collided with, or caused a southbound big rig to crash and catch fire according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
