Facebook Murderer's Ex-Girlfriend Speaks Out

Over the weekend, Steve Stephens uploaded a video of himself murdering 74-year-old Robert Godwin Sr. in Cleveland, and he alleged that he had killed others and wasn't yet finished.

A man-hunt has since ensued, with the FBI reaching out to the populations of now 5 states where Stephens could be hiding - Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Indiana or Michigan. Authorities believe he was last seen in Erie, PA, which shut down multiple nearby schools.

Stephens' ex-girlfriend Joy Lane has spoken to Time, offering her condolences to the victim's family.

"I'm just overwhelmed, and I feel bad for all the families affected," Lane said. "He was a really good guy. He's been fabulous to me."

"I am sorry that all of this has happened," she said. "My heart & prayers goes out to the family members of the victim(s). Steve really is a nice guy... he is generous with everyone he knows. He was kind and loving to me and my children. This is a very difficult time for me and my family. Please respect our privacy at this time."
