This is so sad. So we all remember at the beginning of the pandemic people were adopting pets to keep them company, so much so that some shelters ran out of pets.
However now it seems that people are returning the pets they adopted! The number of pets being returned has doubled in the past month and workers are expecting it to get worse.
The shelter said it had seen a similar trend during the 2008 recession.
Hopefully anyone that has to return a pet that they adopted takes it to a no kill shelter! This is why I wish I had a HUGE farm so that I could rescue all the dogs and cats!
