Father Arrested For Putting His Daughter Inside Zoo Elephant Habitat

Living the wild life isn't always the best way.

25-year-old, Jose Navarette was arrested on charges of child endangerment after he allegedly entered the San Diego Zoo’s elephant habitat to take a picture of his 2-year-old daughter with the elephants.

According to news sources, Navarette “jumped the fence” to gain access to the elephant exhibit. “A lot of people froze and didn’t know really how to take it in, then immediately everyone was pleading with him and then it became frantic and hysterical,” an eyewitness told the news.

“It was a big roar,” the eyewitness added. “[The elephant] stuck its head up in the air and its tusks and he started trotting toward them. I didn’t think it was going to end well.”

Once the authorities and the zoo members got there, Navarette and his daughter eventually made it out without any harm. However, the police did arrest Navarette and he is currently being held on $100,000 bail.

Talk about living on the edge. Would ever risk the life of your children?
