Issa Rae's HBO show Insecure will be ending soon after its fifth season airs.
The Inglewood actress share the news in a statement with Deadline, telling the publication that she and executive producer Prentice Penny “are so grateful that HBO believed in our show from the beginning and kept faith in us to see our vision through the end”.
“We always planned to tell this story through five seasons, but we couldn’t have made it this far without the tremendous support of our audience,” Rae added. “I feel blessed beyond measure to bring our characters’ stories to an end, on-screen at least.”
Insecure's final season is set to go into production later this month. However, a release date for the fifth season has not been confirmed.
