The woman who falsely accused a teen of taking her phone at a New York City hotel has been arrested in California.
Miya Ponsetto, or “SoHo Karen” as she has become to be known, was spotted three blocks from her home by police when they tried to pull her over, but she refused to stop.
Once in her driveway, Ponsetto had to be pulled from her vehicle but not before she tried to slam the door on a deputy's leg. Miya is currently being held without bail as she waits to be extradited back to New York.
Ponsetto has a history with the law, she has two DUIs, and now her lawyer, Sharen H. Ghatan, says she will only represent her for her case but says she is emotionally and mentally fragile and if she doesn’t listen to her advice there isn’t any more she can do.
Strange enough prior to being arrested Ponsetto sat down with for a interview with Gayle King ... which by the way was the first interview since the incident occured & things definitely got heated.... Miya started the conversation with saying, "I consider myself to be super sweet. I really never meant to hurt him or his father, either."
At one point, Gayle pressed Miya about her aggression in towards the teenage boy and Miya responded, "How is one girl accusing a guy about a phone a crime? Where’s the context in that? What is the deeper story here?" ... When Gayle intersected, Miya told Gayle, "Alright, Gayle. Enough."
